This year’s Donate life Month uses trees as a symbol of life and connection. Just like trees grow and support each other in a forest, donation connects people – donors, recipients, and their families. Like a tree that grows and stands for generations, a donor’s gift leaves a lasting legacy of hope and life.
National Donate Life Month is a time to educate about organ and tissue donation, and to honor and remember donors and the lives they have saved and enhanced. Your decision to be an organ and tissue donor gives hope to the over 100,000 people on the national organ transplant waiting list, including the nearly 4,000 people in NJ who are waiting for a second chance at life.
This April, join us in helping to save and enhance lives: register your decision to be an organ and tissue donor and spread the miracle of organ and tissue donation.
New Jersey 2026 Donate Life Hospital Challenge Scorecard
Plan Activities. Register Donors. Save Lives.
Be part of the effort to strengthen donation awareness within your hospital! Plan and lead activities throughout the year that educate staff, patients, and visitors about the lifesaving impact of organ and tissue donation.
Use the activity scorecard below to track your outreach efforts and the number of new donor registrations generated. Points are awarded for each activity completed, such as hosting a Donate Life Flag Raising Ceremony, helping determine your hospital’s level of recognition.
Once your activities are complete, submit your scorecard to NJ Sharing Network to be recognized for your commitment to saving and enhancing lives through donation.

Donate Life Living Donor Day is a celebration to honor living organ donors for saving and healing lives! In 2025, more than 7,000 transplants were made possible by living donors. Thank you to all living donors for your remarkable generosity!

Blue & Green Spirit Week
Begins April 4, 2026
Get in the spirit and join us on our social media pages for an entire week of celebrations. We’ll recognize the donors, volunteers and healthcare heroes who make second chances possible as we encourage others to give hope to those who are waiting by registering as organ and tissue donors.

Join the national celebration in support of organ and tissue donation by wearing blue & green!
Post your blue & green photos on bulletin boards, newsletters and social media to spread awareness and be sure to send us your pictures at socialmedia@njsharingnetwork.org. Use hashtags #BlueandGreenDay #NDLM and tag us on Facebook and Instagram @NJSharingNetwork.
Donor Remembrance Day
April 30, 2026
April 30 is national Donor Remembrance Day, a day to come together to honor and celebrate donor heroes who have given the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation. The forget-me-not flower is a symbol of Donor Heroes and a reminder that their courageous gift will always be remembered. Visit the National Donor Hero Remembrance Garden on the AOPO website to “plant” a forget-me-not flower in honor of your Donor Hero, and then share your Donor Hero's story on April 30 using #DonorRemembranceDay.
