The NJ Sharing Network Foundation is committed to supporting the work of NJ Sharing Network and to increasing the number of lives saved through education, research, donor family support and public awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Grants are awarded to honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, offer hope to those who continue to wait, and remember the lives lost while waiting...for the "Gift of Life."

Benjamin R. Chirls Scholarship – The NJ Sharing Network Foundation, in cooperation with Donate Life NJ and Gift of Life Donor Program, awards one $4,000 scholarship annually. The scholarship recipient is an organ, tissue or eye donor family member, transplant recipient or awareness advocate.
-
Hospital based donor memorials to honor organ and tissue donors. In 2010 and 2011, we contributed funding to the creation of two donor memorials. These special memorials to donors feature photos, tributes and letters from transplant recipients, personalizing the impact of the gift of life. Our hope is that these memorials will be created in other hospitals throughout New Jersey to always remember the generosity of the donors and their families. The first two donor memorials included: “Wall of Heroes” at Jersey City Medical Center and “Zan’s Garden of Life” at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Donor Family Support
-
Donor Family Memorial Program - These grants make it possible to create beautiful tribute keepsake booklets for donor families attending the annual program.
-
Family Sponsorships - A donor family or recipient attends the Rose Parade and Donate Life Float activities annually.
-
Wrapped in Love - This program provides donor families with shawls handmade by volunteers as a tangible expression of comfort and compassion.
