Grant Funded Programs
The NJ Sharing Network Foundation is committed to supporting the work of NJ Sharing Network and to increasing the number of lives saved through education, research, donor family support and public awareness about the life-saving benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Grants are awarded to honor those who gave, pay tribute to those who received, offer hope to those who continue to wait, and remember the lives lost while waiting...for the "Gift of Life."

Public Education and Outreach
- Lily's Little Life Lessons: Lily's Laces The NJ Sharing Network Foundation awarded a local New Providence author a grant to publish a children's book exploring NJ Sharing Network's annual 5K fundraiser through the eyes of a child who learns about doing good and the life-saving value of organ and tissue donation.
Liberty Science Center - This partnership will provide an organ donation and transplantation exhibition to educate visitors to the Science Center on the benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation and to ensure that they can make an informed decision regarding donor registration.
High School Heroes - This innovative education program was established in response to New Jersey law mandating donation education in New Jersey high schools. The program is designed to educate all NJ high school students about the importance of organ and tissue donation to ensure that they can make an informed decision regarding donor registration.
Benjamin R. Chirls Scholarship – The NJ Sharing Network Foundation, in cooperation with Donate Life NJ and Gift of Life Donor Program, awards one $4,000 scholarship annually. The scholarship recipient is an organ, tissue or eye donor family member, transplant recipient or awareness advocate.
Hospital based donor memorials to honor organ and tissue donors. In 2010 and 2011, we contributed funding to the creation of two donor memorials. These special memorials to donors feature photos, tributes and letters from transplant recipients, personalizing the impact of the gift of life. Our hope is that these memorials will be created in other hospitals throughout New Jersey to always remember the generosity of the donors and their families. The first two donor memorials included: “Wall of Heroes” at Jersey City Medical Center and “Zan’s Garden of Life” at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Donor Family Support
Donor Family Memorial Program - These grants make it possible to create beautiful tribute keepsake booklets for donor families attending the annual program.
Family Sponsorships - A donor family or recipient attends the Rose Parade and Donate Life Float activities annually.
Wrapped in Love - This program provides donor families with shawls handmade by volunteers as a tangible expression of comfort and compassion.
In order to help NJ Sharing Network Foundation continue to fund projects such as these, we rely on contributions. Please consider making a financial contribution today. Thank you for your generosity.
