Tournament of Roses Parade

Each New Year's Day, the world focuses its attention on Pasadena, California, USA, home of the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game. It's a celebration more than a century old – a festival of flowers, music and sports unequaled anywhere else in the world. It's America's New Year Celebration, a greeting to the world on the first day of the year, and a salute to the community spirit and love of pageantry that have thrived in Pasadena for more than 100 years.

The Donate Life Float

The Donate Life Rose Parade Float made its 14th appearance in the annual Rose Parade in Pasadena, California on January 2, 2017. This year, four New Jersey families traveled to the west coast to participate in the float as their loved ones were honored as either organ and tissue donors, transplant recipients or living organ donors.

Isak Anderson, Courtney Dayback and Zoe Jackson all gave the gift of life as organ and/or tissue donors. Their families saw their floragraphs and the floragraphs of 60 other organ and tissue donors on the float that day. A floragraph is a likeness of the person that is created from flowers, seeds and other organic materials.

Dorothea Duffy, who received a kidney transplant joined 23 others as a float ride representing recipients who have been given a second chance at life.
