Día de los Muertos is celebrated in Mexico and other parts of Latin America and has gained popularity in the United States. Traditionally, an ofrenda - or altar - includes photos of departed loved ones, candles, bread and foods, items that were important to those being remembered, homemade perforated paper (papel picado), marigolds (cempasúchiles), and skulls made of sugar (calaveras).

Don Canizares passed away in 2021 while awaiting his second kidney transplant. He remained grateful for his 2008 transplant, which gave him years of happiness.
 

 

October 29 was our 42nd birthday and first without my twin, best friend and hero.  Amanda's family will spend forever honoring her memory.

Nina was a 16-year-old spark of pure joy who loved travel, school, and shouting "boomba!" Though she passed in 2017, her laughter lives on.

Our dad, Andre, was the best father we could have ever asked for. He was caring, generous, and always knew how to make us laugh. We miss him every single day and will forever cherish the memories and love he gave us.
