NJSN Certified Volunteers are an important part of our mission to inspire and educate our community about the lifesaving gift of organ and tissue donation. Whether sharing information at a community event, connecting with others who have been touched by donation, or helping behind the scenes at our 5K Celebration of Life, our volunteers bring enthusiasm, compassion, and a personal connection to everything they do.
Community Outreach
Represent NJ Sharing Network at various events including:
• Local festivals and health fairs
• Houses of worship and faith-based initiatives
• Corporate events and civic group meetings
Speaking Opportunities
Spread our lifesaving message by sharing your story and educating others about organ and tissue donation at:
• High schools, colleges and student groups
• Workplaces, houses of worship, and special clubs
• Hospitals along with NJ Sharing Network staff
Wrapped in Love
Our Wrapped in Love program provides beautiful handmade shawls and lap blankets to families who have said yes to organ and tissue donation as a tangible expression of comfort and compassion.

Volunteering with NJ Sharing Network is an opportunity to connect with others, share your story and help create a future where more people say YES to donation. Together, our volunteers help us reach communities across New Jersey, build meaningful relationships and spread a message that can truly save lives.
Becoming an NJSN Certified Volunteer starts with attending an NJSN Community Meetup. Offered both in person and virtually, these gatherings bring together people with connections to organ and tissue donation and transplantation. It’s a welcoming opportunity to meet others, hear inspiring stories, share your own experience, and learn more about how you can make a difference.

Meet Dana Bonacuso, NJSN’s Volunteer and Events Coordinator. Before joining the Public Education team, she worked directly with tissue donor families behind the scenes guiding them through the donation process. She brings a fresh perspective to her role and is eager to connect with volunteers.
